Willow Class Reminders

 

Monday: Forest School

Please ensure the children bring their kit to school with them.

 

Tuesday and Friday: P.E. 

Please ensure the children wear the correct P.E. kit to school and on colder days remember to wear a hoody and tracksuit trousers/leggings.

 

Spellings 

Five spellings are sent home on a Friday for the children to practice in their Spelling Journal. On the following Friday, they need to bring their Spelling Journal to school with them for their spelling dictation, using one of the words learned that week. Spellings for the following week will be stuck in their book.

 

Reading

Please try to hear your child read five times a week. This will support our learning at school and really make a difference to their progress. The children receive a sticker in their Home Academy book on a Friday if they have done this! We have a 'two reads rule' in Year 1 which means that children should read their reading book twice. This enables them to concentrate on reading for meaning, rather than having to decode. 

Please make sure you are signed up to Seesaw. If you are not yet signed up, please contact the school office. We use Seesaw as a communication tool and digital portfolio that allows you to have a personalised window into your child’s time at school. The class teacher and your child can document any learning so that it can be shared, supported and celebrated.
