Religious Education
At DAPS, our pupils learn from and about religion and world views, so that they can understand the world around them. They will acquire and develop knowledge, understanding and tolerance of a diverse range of religious beliefs. They will appreciate an accurate understanding of the legacy of such beliefs. The pupils will understand the way that religious beliefs shape life and behaviour whilst developing the ability to make reasoned and informed judgements about religious and moral issues. This will ultimately enhance their spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
Religious Education plays an important role in promoting social awareness and understanding in our pupils. Our pupils will be able to enquire about the world and reflect on their own beliefs, values and experiences.
To support the teaching and planning of RE, we use Kapow RE which follows the spiral curriculum model, where units and lessons are carefully sequenced so that previous conceptual knowledge is returned to and built upon.
