Dauntsey Academy Primary School

Make a difference day - 18th September

We have had some very successful days when the power of the parents has been nothing short of spectacular! With horribly diminished budgets, gone are the days when you can afford to pay decorators and gardeners to help maintain a school site.

Make a difference days are when parents are invited into school to offer as little or as much time as they can to garden, paint, tidy or build in order to improve the school setting for the good of the pupils. The manual labour is helped along by tea and cake contributions and more often than not, some music and good humour.

On Sunday 18th September, from 10am until 3pm, we will be at school with a list of things that need to be done so if you have an hour or three and are willing and able to come along and help we would be very appreciative. Children are invited too if they are well behaved and supervised! If you are unable to offer any time on that day but are willing to bake a cake to feed the workers, that would be hugely appreciated too.

Please can you let your class teacher know, via Seesaw, if you are planning to attend and lend a hand.

Jobs that are already on ‘the list’

  • Painting - Picket fence, benches
  • Gardening – weeding pots and beds, tidying up some tree branches
  • Mending a bench seat
  • Sweeping/clearing/tidying

Thank you!
