Alder Class have started their brand new topic called ‘Gateways to the World’. We will be learning all about air travel and how it helps to connect people all around the world.
To start our topic, we took part in a very exciting entry point where Mrs Perrin and Miss Scott arranged flight themed team games. This was great fun!
We have also had a brilliant visit from Mr Jennings who is a British Airways pilot. He told us all about his job and the roles of other employees at the airport. Mr Jennings then gave us a boarding pass with a seat number written on it. We made our way to the school hall which had been transformed into an aeroplane! We found our seats just in time for take-off. Alder Class flew all of the way to China. How exciting! The airhostesses even provided us with in flight snacks. Yummy!
After our aeroplane flight, we designed some sculptures based on the theme of flight.
When we went to Forest School, we continued our learning by making flight themed models using natural materials.
Alder and Hazel Class went on a brilliant trip to @Bristol. They watched a flight-themed show before making their own aeroplanes. After a very exciting morning, they took part in another workshop and designed fantastic parachutes which they tested using one of the exhibits.
