Term 1 - Go With The Flow

THE BIG IDEA...

 

Rivers play a vital role in shaping the geography of our planet, providing nutrients, habitats and transport for people, plants and animals, and also supplying us with energy to power machinery and generate electricity.

 

Rivers really are our most precious resource....

 

 

 

On Tuesday 19th September, we were blessed with dry weather and sunshine for our long awaited trip to canoe along Devizes Canal.  The children (and adults) had a lot of fun on the water; Rowan class were full of beans on their return!  We are looking forward to reading the recount writing, which we are working on in class at the moment, to see what their favourite memories are.  Thank you to all of Rowan Class for making it such an enjoyable day and to the parents for supporting the trip.

In Forest School, we took a walk to a local river where we collected samples of the water to test its pH level. We also played 'Pooh Sticks' to calculate the speed that the water was flowing.

This term, we are learning the skills required to play a game of Netball, with Miss Walsh on a Tuesday, and Tag Rugby in our Friday coaching sessions.
